Keeping your personal information, that you have entrusted
with us, safe and secure is of paramount importance to us. As part of our on-going training and personal development as
counsellors & teachers, our client work is reviewed by our supervisor. However, to ensure confidentiality you will only be identified by a code number.We secure access to our Business Data Networks and our website using a number of secure technologies. We monitor our systems to protect against possible vulnerabilities, attacks
and we also identify opportunities to strengthen our security infrastructure.
How long we keep your personal information for
We will only keep your personal information as long as is necessary for the purpose for
which it was collected.
Where you have provided personal information for us to provide training or a service to
you, we will hold onto the personal information for a limited period to meet our legal and regulatory requirements.
GDPR Statement: The personal data we collect about you will include data relating to your name and address, and the information we discuss in your sessions and training. As with any reputable
therapist or organisation, we are required by our insurers to store client records for a minimum of 7 years. This data will be securely stored and will only be used by ourselves for communication
with you and as a record of our work together. Your information will only be shared under the circumstances detailed in the confidentiality clauses detailed in the MSEC Referral Code of Practice
below and client contract you agreed to.
Once it is no longer necessary for us to hold your personal information it will be deleted
or completely anonymised. An example of this would be to anonymise data so that it is no longer personally identifiable and to use it for purely statistical analysis.
Who we share your personal information with
We respect your privacy and do not and never have, sold or shared this information with a
third party. We only contact you to keep you aware and provide the training/services you requested. However, in order to provide those services we may need to share some personal information with
colleagues at the School of Metaphysics, such as relevant administration/Practitioners/Counsellors/Teachers.
Your rights over your personal information
We understand that you trust us with your personal information and we are committed to
ensuring you can manage the privacy and security of your personal information yourself. Under Data Protection Laws you have a number of rights:
Right of access to your personal data
Right of rectification. If your personal information is incorrect, out of date or
incomplete you can request that it is updated
You have the right to withdraw your consent where consent has been used to collect your

MSEC Referral Code of Practice
Important Information for Clients Attending Metaphysical Sessions
This code of practice follows standard therapeutic procedure for both clients and practitioners within the field of professional counselling and practice. Its purpose is
to ensure client well-being at all times.
As a Metaphysical Counsellor, Practitioner, Teacher, Trainer or Student in training, we have undergone extensive training in a wide range of metaphysical and psychologically-based methods of
treatment.
These therapeutic techniques have proved very successful in assisting clients with many diverse, emotional and physical conditions, as well as helping them make major transformations in their
relationships, finances and personal and professional lives.
We work within the professional guidelines of our training and member organisation. To ensure that we are kept updated on the latest methods of treatment we are required to attend both supervision
and continued professional development (CPD)
Your sessions with us are entirely confidential. Another requirement of supervision is that our work is regularly reviewed. To ensure that your privacy is respected, any case histories discussed at
Supervision will be covered anonymously and no details of your name or address will be disclosed.
However, should we consider at any time, that you were in danger of harming yourself or another, we have a duty of care to report that to our supervisor /relevant authorities who will advise us on
the best course of action. We will always discuss this with you before going ahead. Under these circumstances or if any emergency situation should arise whilst you are with us, it may be necessary to
provide your name and details to whichever authority may require them.
As responsible practitioners, the emotional and mental well-being of our clients is paramount and there are times when a client may require additional methods of treatment in conjunction with, or in
place of a metaphysical approach. These treatments may include other complementary therapies, as well as those that come under the heading of medical treatment.
Metaphysical counselling does not take the place of medical treatment although in most cases it works extremely well alongside it. There are a
growing number of physicians who include Metaphysical approaches in their practice. However as a Metaphysical Practitioner we are not trained in medicine, psychotherapy or psychiatric
conditions.
Therefore, in order to comply with the requirements and conditions of a professional practice, on the rare occasion that a client’s condition causes us undue concern and we consider it to go beyond
the boundaries of our training, after checking with our supervisor, it may be necessary for us to recommend that clients check in with their doctor for further support and diagnosis.
For clients already being treated by their doctor or health practitioner, it is important to let your doctor or other health practitioner know that you are attending counselling sessions. If you are
currently taking medication, you should not stop that medication without medical supervision.

Professional Services
Should you choose to register on a course with us or sign up for a series of counselling & mentoring sessions then please be aware that at that stage we would require some further information,
inorder to provide those services.
Personal Data a) For the purposes of providing treatment, our Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers may require detailed medical information. We will only collect what
is relevant and necessary for your treatment. When you visit our practice, we will make notes that may include details concerning your medication, treatment and other issues affecting your
health.
This data is always held securely, is not shared with anyone not involved in your treatment, although for data storage
purposes it may be handled by pre-vetted staff who have all signed an integrity and confidentiality agreement.
To be able to process your personal data it is a condition of any treatment that you give your explicit consent to allow
the Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers to document and process your personal medical data. Contact details provided by you such as telephone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses may be used to
remind you of future appointments and provide reports or other information concerning your treatment.
b) For marketing purposes, the Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers may also use the contact details provided by you to respond to your enquiries, including making telephone contact and emailing
information to you which the practice believes may be of interest to you.
c) In making initial contact with the practice, you consent to the Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers maintaining a marketing dialogue with you until you either opt out (which you can do at any
time) or we decide to desist in promoting our services. The Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers may occasionally also act on behalf of its patients in the capacity of data processor, when we may
promote other practitioners based at our premises, who may not be employed by us.
The Practitioners /Counsellors/Teachers do not broker your data and you can ask to be removed from our marketing
database by emailing or phoning the practice using the contact details provided at the end of this Privacy Notice.
d) Some basic personal data may be collected about you from the marketing forms and surveys you complete, from records of
our correspondence and phone calls and details of your visits to our website, including but not limited to, personally identifying information such as Internet Protocol (IP)

Should you choose to continue into year 2 and study for the MSEC Metaphysical Practitioner Diploma qualification inorder to set
up in practice and offer Holistic Counselling services to clients. The course fees will be between £3,600 and £4,200 depending on whether you choose monthly installments or early bird payment rate.
This price includes course fees for the whole year plus the attendance workshops.

What Is Metaphysics?
Metaphysics is an umbrella term for a set of truth teachings and exercises, designed to help us awaken and unfold Spiritual understanding and bring more balance into our life.
The Metaphysics we teach here, is also a Holistic Counselling therapy, with a psychological/spiritual approach to problems.
What Does the Word Metaphysics Mean?
The word's origins are from Ancient Greece and it means 'beyond physics'.
Human beings are made up of Mind, Body and Spirit. Our mind and bodies are within the physical realm and our Spirit is beyond them. So simply put, Metaphysics is about Spirit, awakening to a
more harmonious way of experiencing life.
Metaphysics helps us understand and unravel the false beliefs which block our inner peace. And empowers us to become more proficient at meeting and resolving the challenges we
face.
This is important because it is the degree of understanding that we have embodied for ourself, which determines the degree of peace and harmony we experience in our
lives.

Will Metaphysics Change my Life?
Some people find their lives are changed by studying these courses. However for most people the biggest gift they gain is that it transforms the way they
view life. Issues which previously would have affected them, they are now at peace with. They feel less fearful and experience a quiet inner confidence in the way
they approach life.
Do I need to believe it inorder for it to work?
No. When the laws and principles are used correctly - they work. In the same way we don't need to believe or understand everything about electricity for it to work. We just need to know how
to use it better.
However as we start to use this spiritual understanding more frequently and see it work in our day to day experience. We naturally start to trust and believe it more, just as you do with
electricity.
Is Metaphysics a religion?
No, not at all. The School of Metaphysics and The Metaphysical Society are not associated with any particular religion or doctrine, we embrace them all. We see each philosophy as a
code for understanding the universe and our place in it. Most religions started with enlightened beings and their insights into the true nature of Life, they were often called mystics and
heralded as saviours for their teachings. At The School of Metaphysics we focus on the core understanding, the timeless teachings which are at the back of most religions. We present these core
principles in a way that is practical and relevant for today, no matter what faith a person holds.
We have trained students and practitioners with no religion at all, and also those from a wide variety of faiths and religions Catholics, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs
etc. All reported that Metaphysics deepens their understanding of their chosen faith and helps bring it to life.
Does it work for everyone?
It can work for anyone, if understood and used correctly.
What we offer here are a wide range of techniques that work, which are tried, tested and effective. If they aren't effective we don't use them. However what differs is, each individual's
readiness to take on board these lessons and practice the techniques.
Obviously some methods are more suited to some individuals rather than others, and some techniques work better earlier in our Spiritual journey and some work better later
on. So this is the value of having such a broad approach and a variety of philosophies, because everyone can find something that resonates and 'speaks to them'.
Whilst we are about it, this is one of the skills we teach Metaphysical Practitioners. They need to be well versed in a wide range of techniques and be able to suggest the most appropriate technique
for their client, depending on the client's level of awareness and the type of problem faced. It is interesting training.

Do I need to be sorted in my life before I start this training?
Certainly not, if we all waited for that, nothing would ever happen and we certainly wouldn't be practicing. No the challenges we currently face, are good fuel for the course, bring them along,
we can work with them. This is how everyone learns the techniques and what works best for certain situations. Also you will soon discover that you are not alone with these challenges, we have
some too.
However what we do suggest is that you are in a relatively settled phase in your life e.g. you're not deeply affected by major trauma or life changes. It is simply
because these are training courses, we need to cover the curriculum and meet the needs of the whole class. So if you personally felt in a very unsettled space, it might be wisest to get your needs
met with some individual attention, such as counselling before you study the course.
The word Metaphysics sounds academic and technical, is it? Also do I need any formal qualifications?
Yes you are right, the name Metaphysics does sound technical and academic, however I can reassure you that it isn't.
No prior experience is required before embarking on any of our courses and no academic qualifications are needed, you just need basic reading and writing skills. There are
Metaphysical Practitioners who have degrees and Phd.'s and others with dyslexia and plenty who have no formal qualifications at all.
Remember Metaphysics goes beyond the mind and intellect. The Spiritual Wisdom that is required for this type of work, is equally available to us all. Qualities such as
awareness, open mindedness, diligence, enthusiasm and a keenness to learn, are far more important.
Also we cover everything you need, as we go along the course. Plus course notes accompany each workshop and the tutor is there to answer any queries.
However, if you wish to study online, you will need basic computing skills. Such as the ability to type, use email, add attachments, search the internet, copy and paste etc. plus
regular access to a reliable computer and internet access. Apart from a couple of books, all the rest is covered within the course.

The MSEC Foundation course consists of Modules A, B & C. You can start with Module A and see how you get on. Each module is a 12 week online course. The entire Foundation course is usually
spread over a year and includes breaks for half terms and holidays etc.

Is there any homestudy required?
Yes, as this course can lead onto a professional qualification, homestudy activities are an integral part of the course. The weekly reflective exercises relate to the course topics and are
designed to prompt new insights and understanding that you can apply to your life.
They also help your tutor ensure that everyone is keeping up with the course and has fully understood the material.
The work is not onerous, most people enjoy the activities and are fascinated by the new insights they gain. However during term time you will need to set aside approx. 3 hours per week to read
through the notes and complete the course activities.
All the homestudy collates into a portfolio of evidence, which needs to be completed before progression onto the next module.
